O Cosmic Birther of All Radiance and Vibration
How Storytelling Lights the Way
We are living through an era of upheaval as long-held structures break down. It can feel frightening, but storytelling has always been our anchor. Stories carry wisdom across generations, reminding us of who we are and what we hold sacred. They help us navigate uncertainty and reconnect with ancient truths.
I’ve been exploring early Christianity — before it was institutionalized by the Roman Empire — and uncovering how the patriarchy deliberately smothered the Divine Feminine to conform to the times.
Christianity lost me sometime in my thirties when I could no longer ignore the patriarchy radiating from its institutional framework — the way it deliberately framed women as not allowed to experience the full spectrum of emotional, sexual, and physical desires and needs. Men heavily indoctrinated in the Roman Empire’s version of Christianity often struggle to see women as full, sovereign beings like themselves.
Ask yourself: Could you bow your head and ask for guidance from God the Mother? Would you feel the same sense of reverence and humility? If not, why not?
Once you see the patriarchy, you can never again unsee it.
But storytelling transcends all. Storytelling is how we share wisdom, reflect our humanity, and reclaim what has been lost.
For the first 300 years of Christianity, women were vital leaders of the faith, sharing teachings that emphasized equality and spiritual connection. Early Christianity was a movement of inclusion, where the divine was seen as present in all, regardless of gender.
For instance, what we now know as The Lord’s Prayer was originally spoken in Aramaic, the language Jesus and his disciples used. Aramaic is a deeply poetic, fluid, and symbolic language, rich with layered meaning that often gets lost in translation.
The Aramaic version of The Lord’s Prayer reflects this original, inclusive vision, focusing on harmony, shared purpose, and divine unity — a message that resonates beyond time and gender, calling us back to our roots of spiritual wholeness.
Here is a reimagining of that prayer by ChatGPT, using language that reflects Aramaic’s spiritual and symbolic essence:
O cosmic Birther of all radiance and vibration,
Soften the ground of our being and carve out a space within us where Your Presence can abide.
Fill us with Your creativity so that we may be empowered to bear the fruit of Your mission.
Let each of our actions bear fruit in accordance with Your desire.
Endow us with the wisdom to produce and share what each being needs to grow and flourish.
Untangle the knots of failure binding us, as we release the strands we hold of others’ faults.
Help us not forget our Source, yet free us from not being in the Present.
From You arises every Vision, Power, and Song,
Through all dimensions of existence.
Amen.
My favorite line is: free us from not being in the Present.
Whoa. If that’s not life wisdom, I don’t know what is.
Many world religions emphasize the importance of being present, teaching that mindfulness, awareness, and living fully in the moment are paths to inner peace, spiritual connection, and a deeper understanding of the divine.
I wrote about this concept from Buddhism’s perspective in this story:
This prayer reminds us that even in times of upheaval, a thread of connection binds us to something greater. It speaks to the beauty of spiritual wisdom that transcends time, reminding us of our shared purpose and the divine presence within us all.
In the face of uncertainty, storytelling becomes a guiding light — an anchor that carries ancient truths into the present and helps us navigate change with courage and grace.
Do you have any stories, prayers, or symbols that inspire and ground you as you walk your path? I’d love to hear about them.
Peace.
